Finding a Safe Place to Learn

For many children, education is more than attending a classroom. It is an opportunity to build confidence, develop skills and imagine a different future.
REACH Initiative Uganda’s approach focuses on facilitating safe learning spaces where children can learn in an environment that promotes dignity, participation and protection.
Through engagement with communities, educators and other stakeholders, the initiative seeks to identify barriers that prevent children from fully participating in education and to support practical solutions.
A safe learning space gives children room to ask questions, express themselves and develop the confidence needed to participate in their communities.

Impact
Safe and supportive learning environments can help children remain engaged in education while strengthening their confidence, participation and sense of belonging.
